Laura Bylenok’s debut full length collection of poetry, Warp, was chosen by Arthur Sze for the 2015 T.S. Eliot Prize and published by Truman State University Press. She is also the author of the hybrid prose book a/0 (DIAGRAM/New Michigan Press, 2014). She is the recipient of an AWP Intro Journals Award and has been a finalist for the Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship. Her poetry has appeared in Best New Poets 2015, Ninth Letter, Pleiades, North American Review, West Branch, and Guernica, among other journals.
She holds a BA from the University of Washington, an MFA from the Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins University, and a PhD in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Utah, where she was awarded the Vice-Presidential Fellowship. She is Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
